Visitation to Beautiful Gates 2015

On the 24th of January 2015,15 Leos from Leo Club of SMK Kepong Baru had participated in the visit to Beautiful Gates which was organized by Leo Wei Hao. Beautiful Gates is a home for the disabled people and it is located just a stone’s throw from our school so we decided to just walk there. Leo Wei Hao gathered everyone at our school’s canteen before proceeding to Beautiful Gates.

At 9.30 a.m. we left our school and started heading to Beautiful Gates. We were introduced to the president of Beautiful Gates, Mr Kenneth. Leo Wei Hao started dividing us into 4 groups. Each group were assigned with different task. For instance, group 1 members were assigned to clean the toilets and group 2 members were assigned to wipe the windows and fans. Group 3 and group 4 were in-charged of cleaning the compounds of the house. It was sad seeing so many unwanted materials thrown outside of the house until they started releasing unpleasant smell. They used to collect these materials and recycle them but we soon found out that they no longer want to continue doing it.

We stopped all of our work at 12.15 p.m. for lunch break. Leo Wei Hao ordered fried rice for us and also for the residents in Beautiful Gates. Around 1.10 p.m. we had a sharing session with Kenneth. He told us about the history of Beautiful Gates and we found out that it was related with the name of one of the doors in the church. Usually every year we would have the baking session with Lorain but due to her injured wrist we were not able to make it.
We would wish to thank the owner of Beautiful Gates, our teacher advisor, Pn Lai, the Organizing Chairperson, Leo Wei How and the present members of Leo Club of SMK Kepong Baru who have helped make this project a success. Thank You smile emoticon !
