Malaysia Day Project

Objective : Create awareness among younger generation about Malaysia Day

7 of our leos members participate in Malaysia Day Project which is held on Malaysia Day. We get to meet new leos members from SMK Damansara Utama, SMK Cochrane , SMK USJ 4, SMK USJ 13, KDU PJ.
We were assigned to be in the 2nd shift which start from 1pm and ends at 3pm. 1000 balloons were prepare to give away. The slogan for this event is "Proud to be a Malaysian". The colors of the balloons are in purple and orange.

3rd KL Omega Leo Clubs Joint Installation 2012

On the 2nd of September, Leo Yee Chui Chin, Tan Ju Lian, Koo Ying Ching and Choong Ka Shing attended the 3rd KL Omega Leo Clubs Joint Installation at Persatuan Alumni Chung Ling. It started at approximately 3pm and ended around 7pm. They attended this meaningful event with leos from other school, eg, SMK Damansara Utama and more. 

There, they witnessed the Induction of new members and Installation of Board of Directors of 7 Omega Leo Clubs of Inti College, KL City Centre, KL Perennial, Nilai, KDU PJ, Southern Cross and KL Unity, who was the organizing chairperson. Their theme this year was TRIBE which stands for teamwork, responsibility, integrity, bravery, and lastly, energy. 

After the induction and installation, it was the most anticipated moment - the Lucky Draw. The organising committee was creative in using computer generated program to draw the numbers. Everyone was hoping and cheering for the winners as the prizes were worth winning for. The joint installation ended with photography session for Leo members and lastly LUNCH.

Not only that, we sold around 50+ of our leo clubs badges after the ceremony.

12th Kuala Lumpur Alpha Leo Clubs Joint Installation 2012



Here's our Joint Installation which falls on the 24th of August 2012 the other day. This year, we had our joint installation with Leo Clubs of SMK USJ 13, SMK Damansara Utama, SMK Jinjang, SMK Bukit Jalil, and SMK Cochrane was was the organizing chairperson for this event. The joint installation was held at YMCA Brickfields from 9.00a.m. to 1.00p.m. The theme for this year's joint installation was "Many Dreams Lead to One Vision" in conjunction with the district theme "One Team, One Vision".

This time, we were in charge of badges, registration and ticketing and also ushering. There were 42 of leos from our school attended with our faculty advisor.

   The event started off with a bang with the releasing of poppers by the Lions and Leo club presidents. After that, the committee members came on stage and sang their rendition of “We Are Young”.  The event continued with a welcoming speech by the organizing chairperson, Leo Kow Wai Wai from SMK Cochrane. After that, the Lions District 308 B-1 chairman in charge of Leo development, Lion Foo See Yow lead the initiation for the new members. This was followed by District Governor, Lion Chan Hoi taking to the stage to install the key officers and also present the gavel to the respective club presidents, assisted by the respective sponsoring Lions Club president of Leo advisor.

  After the ceremony came the performances from various students and Leos. First off was SMK Cochrane’s Leo Tan Kah Meng with a hip hop routine followed by Leo Kow Wai Wai’s piano recital of Fur Elise. Some students of SMK Damansara Utama performed a break dance and hip hop routine that had the crowd cheering and clapping. The last performance was by the Leos of SMK Bukit Jalil. They sang the acapella version of “More Than Words” and “Call Me Maybe” which was accompanied by a guitar.

  All in all, the joint installation was a huge success. The committee of six schools managed to cooperate with one another to make the joint installation a success. The Leo Club of SMK Kepong Baru would like to thank the Lions who showed their support by attending our joint installation.
