39th Multiple District 308 Leo Forum

Date : 26th - 28th May 2012

Venue : Kuah, Langkawi

7 of our leo members attended the 39th Multiple District 308 Leo Forum held in Kuah, Langkawi for 3 days, from 26 to 28 of May 2012.

Day 1 - 26th May
Took a plane from LCCT to Langkawi  and arrived around noon. We then took a van that was prepared by the committee to De Baron Resort where the forum was held. There was some problems with the rooms during our check-in so we had to wait for a couple of hours. After getting our room, we just took a rest and got ready for the night to come. Leo Chui Chin had to rush around for rehearsals as she was the incoming president. After the club presidents and incoming club presidents were called out to present their banner, Fellowship Night started. Club members we required to dress according to the theme which was Future Retroism. There were some interesting performances, slideshows and speeches. The club with the best dressed members were awarded. At the end of the night, a footloose was held but the electricity got cut in the middle of it and people were forced to leave the hall and retire to their respective rooms.

Day 2 - 27th May
Leo school was held early in the morning. There was school for president, school for secretary, school for treasurer and school for directors/members. The lions and omegas gave their speeches and presented slideshows in hope that the leos who are present would learn more about Leo Club and what its all about. After lunch, the award giving ceremony was held. Our club was privileged enough to have gotten two awards. Which are Outstanding Fun Raising Award - Alpha & Outstanding Community Service - Alpha. A lot of clapping and cheering went on during this period of time as the members were cheering their club president on stage. After retiring to our rooms, we got ready for Banquet Night. Banquet night was held in Langkawi Sports Stadium with the theme Starry Starry Night. Everyone dressed to impress and it was a memorable night for everyone. The food and performances were great and we even met some new friends on that night. There was a lot of laughing and picture taking going on as it was our last night there.

Day 3 - 28th May
It was the last day of the 39th MD Forum in Langkawi. We had the closing ceremony in De Baron Hall and everyone was heavy-hearted to leave. We bid our goodbyes and headed to the infamous Langkawi cable car to experience the ride and the view. It was quite cold and misty when we reach the peak so we couldn't really see anything but it was still a fun experience. It rained after that so we went duty free shopping and headed to the airport to take cover from the rain. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we hope that more members will be able to attend the next forum to gain some knowledge and experience.
